Our History
 Max
and Pieters was formerly called
Jeanne Max & Associates (and before that, Gergurich & Max).
The name was changed in October 2008 to reflect the current
ownership. Our company was started in
1979 with one employee and business was conducted on a
person-to-person client/accountant relationship. A lot
has changed but that ideal is still alive today. Jeanne
Max and John Pieters began their accounting careers with a major international
accounting firm and saw firsthand what happens when an
organization gets so large that personalized client relationships
are lost.
The staff operates as a team providing prompt,
decisive, and qualified professional services, yet still takes
pride in maintaining a close, one-on-one relationship with
each client. The staff continues to promote the original values
of hard work, integrity and community involvement.

their business problems. Medical practices, both individual
practitioners and medical groups, are among our specialties.

Our Services
Max and Pieters provides high quality relationship-oriented
services, including tax services, management advisory services,
and specialized accounting.
Complete and diversified tax service is provided,
including the preparation of federal, state, and local tax
returns. Tax planning is emphasized and we monitor tax law
changes throughout the year.
Seldom is a major business decision made today
without prior study of its tax effects. We assure clients
pay no more taxes than necessary by recommending tax-saving
strategies and by serving as advocates in tax matters.

Management Advisory Services

Using objective, skilled evaluations, we assist
clients in improving their efficiency and profitability from
a different viewpoint. Firm personnel design information systems
and create operating controls.
We help solve business problems. We offer assistance
with loan applications, pricing, credit policies, cash flow,
cost controls, and other business needs. Services include
assistance in the preparation of forecasts and working capital
requirements, recommending sources of financing for operations
and capital additions, and many other services to help make
smart business decisions.
Specialized accounting service provides the
smaller client with a wide range of personal services. We
assist in designing basic record keeping and accounting systems
to fit business and personal financial needs. We prepare interim
financial statements and various state and federal tax forms
including income, sales, and payroll returns.
We offer setup of bookkeeping systems such as
QuickBooks, including training and on-going support services.
